Wyndham City Council’s $3.05 million Road Surface Renewal Program is well underway,  resurfacing roads across Hoppers Crossing, Point Cook, Tarneit, Werribee, and Wyndham Vale, with 31 road resurfacings already completed as of 2022/23.

Planning is currently underway for the remaining 18 locations, which are expected to be completed by June 2023.

Road resurfacing involves stripping back and replacing the top layer of the road to stop water getting through and to make it smoother, safer and more enjoyable for everyday use.

Wyndham City Mayor and Community Safety portfolio holder, Susan McIntyre, said the Road Surface Renewal Program was a crucial part of maintaining and improving Wyndham’s road network.

“Keeping our roads in prime condition is an ongoing priority for Council,” Mayor McIntyre said.

“Road resurfacing prolongs the life of the road by replacing the top layer of asphalt, resulting in more durable roads and improved road safety for all users.”

Mayor  McIntyre said Council officers regularly monitor roads right across the municipality and consider feedback from the community to help guide this annual program.

“Wyndham City is also investing $8.9 million to completely rebuild 12 Wyndham streets over 2022/23 as part of its Road Reconstructions Program, including the recent $5 million rehabilitation of Sayers Road between Tarneit Road and Reflections Boulevard” Mayor McIntyre said.
