The Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival is returning the Auburn Botanic Gardens from 16 to 24 August for a celebration of Japanese culture.

The event is a must-see celebration of fusion Japanese culture, mouthwatering food, live entertainment, and peaceful nature escapes, all wrapped up in pink petals and joyful vibes.

The iconic festival attracts thousands of visitors over nine spectacular days each year who come to experience the fairytale wonderland of more than 200 pink cherry blossom trees in full bloom, also known as ‘Sakura’, set against the stunning Japanese Gardens, right in the heart of Cumberland City.

Cumberland Mayor, Ola Hamed, said that the festival is a highlight of the year, drawing thousands of visitors for a once-a-year experience that you can’t find anywhere else in Sydney.

“There’s nothing quite like walking beneath a canopy of cherry blossoms, it’s magical, calming, and unforgettable,” Mayor Hamed said.

“The Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival is more than just a beautiful sight, it’s a celebration of Japanese culture, creativity and community.

“From hands on workshops and cultural performances to incredible food and fun for all ages, it’s a fantastic day out for families, friends, and anyone looking to enjoy something truly special.”
