City of Stirling Council has announced that long-serving Director of Infrastructure, Michael Littleton, will leave the Council to step into the role of Chief Executive Officer at the City of Canning.
Mr Littleton will commence his new position in May 2022.
City of Stirling Mayor, Mark Irwin, and CEO, Stuart Jardine PSM, both congratulated Mr Littleton on his new appointment in a joint statement, and said that they would miss Mr Littleton’s tenacity, honesty and dedication.
“Since joining the City in 2014, Michael has been a strong and passionate leader, guiding his team to successfully deliver many major projects that have been recognised nationally for their quality and community value,” Mayor Irwin and Mr Jardine said.
“Mr Littleton has been at the forefront of some of the City’s most significant and strategic investments, some of which have been recognised with awards for excellence.
“As an integral member of the City’s Executive Team, Michael’s departure will be a tremendous loss to the City, but we take comfort in the fact that this appointment proves his sector-leading capabilities and is a tribute to his quality of leadership.
“We wish him every success in this new and exciting step forward in his local government career.”
The signature achievements of Mr Littleton’s term at Stirling City Council have been:
- The realisation of the Stephenson Avenue Extension (SAE) project; a $165 million investment in better transport connections and unlocking new land for the Stirling City Centre project
- The completion of the $100 million Scarborough Beach Precinct redevelopment including a world-class Scarborough Beach Pool
- Successfully advocating for funding for a business case into Trackless Tram, an Australian-first in mid-tier transport infrastructure
