Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) has begun a nationwide search for a new leader, following the resignation of longstanding CEO, Brian Pidgeon, in December 2024.

Toowoomba Region Mayor, Geoff McDonald, said Council was searching for an exceptional leader to guide the organisation during its next exciting chapter.

“We are on the search for an accomplished leader with a business mind and a community heart.

“The right person to lead our organisation will be a strategic, people-focused leader with a passion for driving sustainable financial performance and fostering a high-performing culture.”

Mayor McDonald said prospective candidates should note that the current Interim CEO, Colin Jensen, does not intend to apply for the role in an ongoing capacity.

“Our ideal candidate is a proven leader with a track record of success in senior roles in large, complex organisations. Above all, the person we are looking for will be a leader of integrity who inspires excellence through collaboration, innovation and service improvement,” he said.

“The Toowoomba Region is an enticing place to live, work and play with an unrivalled liveability including a plethora of outstanding private and public schools, wonderful cultural and leisure facilities as well as quality public and private health infrastructure.

“I encourage all worthy applicants to put themselves forward to drive our organisation’s strategic intent.”

Applications are open until Sunday, March 30, 2025.
