Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) in Queensland has been recognised for its outstanding service to the community with a highly commended award at the National Local Government Customer Service Conference.

The Council’s Customer, Communication and Engagement Branch was awarded Highly Commended in the National Customer Service Team of the Year award and was a finalist in the Innovation Award.

TRC Finance and Business Strategy Portfolio Lead, Cr Kerry Shine, said the award was recognition for the hard work of the entire customer service branch of TRC.

“Our Customer, Communication and Engagement branch plays a pivotal role in serving the community on behalf of Council.

“Council operates customer service centres across the region in many of our regional towns as well as the Toowoomba CBD and this is a large-scale undertaking to coordinate and resource.

“The team does a wonderful job every day in service to the community and being the first point-of-call for many people when they interact with Council.

“From paying their rates, lodging a request, registering their animals or helping with bookings, our team serves the community with pride and this award is well deserved recognition for the team,” Cr Shine said.
