Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council (EMRC) has announced the appointment of a new CEO.
Matthew MacPherson has been selected as the new CEO for EMRC, a regional local government body in Perth composed of five member councils – the Town of Bassendean, City of Bayswater, City of Kalamunda, Shire of Mundaring and City of Swan.
The appointment comes after a rigorous recruitment process, reflecting the EMRC’s commitment to securing a highly qualified and experienced leader for the organisation.
Council said that Mr MacPherson brings an outstanding reputation in the local government sector, having most recently served as the Director of Technical Services for the City of Nedlands. Prior to this, he was the Manager of Infrastructure Management Services at the City of Joondalup.
EMRC Chairperson, Filomena Piffaretti, expressed confidence in Mr MacPherson’s ability to lead the organisation into a new era of growth and development.
“We are thrilled to welcome Matthew to the EMRC team,” Ms Piffaretti said.
“His extensive experience and proven track record in local government will be invaluable as we continue to strive for excellence in service delivery and community engagement.”
Mr MacPherson’s appointment marks a significant milestone for the EMRC, and Council said that it looks forward to his leadership in driving key sustainability initiatives and projects that will benefit the region.
