The New South Wales Government has announced that it will be investing up to $3 million into an Early Adopter Grant Program to help councils implement AI into their planning programs.

The program is now open to all eligible councils that can demonstrate their readiness to implement and leverage AI solutions to improve their pre-lodgement or overall development application efforts.

Councils are invited to review the grant program guideline and submit a grant application by 22 May 2024.

Three technologies have been identified and available to councils for trial. They are:

  • ADAPTOVATE Development Assessment Intelligence System (DAISY)
  • Archistar Platform
  • PropCode CDC

Councils collaborating on joint grant applications could receive up to $500,000, while single council applications could be eligible for up to $200,000 to trial the identified technologies.

Successful grant recipients will be notified by June.
