The Tasmanian Government has awarded a design tender for key projects as part of the Hobart City Deal.

WSP Australia will deliver detailed design options for the projects, which are designed to make public transport a more viable option for more commuters and improve the reliability of travel times.

The tender includes ensuring that important community consultation is included on the Southern Outlet transit lane, bus priority measures on Macquarie and Davey Streets, and concept designs for a Park and Ride in Kingborough.

The Hobart City Deal is a great example of what can be achieved when the Tasmanian and Federal Governments work together with local government, taking an integrated and collaborative approach to improving travel around Hobart.

A comprehensive report, including the concept designs, is due to government in September 2020.
