The Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) recently celebrated the commitment and contributions of its long-serving councillors at its Councillor Service Awards.

Presented at an Annual Conference Dinner on September 12, the awards highlight the dedication of many to their communities and the local government sector.

MAV President, David Clark, said that each recipient has demonstrated exemplary leadership and a steadfast commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all residents.

“Being a councillor is a demanding role, and often completed as a second job or alongside raising a family,” Cr Clark said.

“It can be a thankless task at times, with expectations changing all the time. It’s important the MAV mark these milestones in a special way through our Councillor Service Awards.”
