The Council of Capital City Lord Mayors (CCCLM) is undertaking a study of the Australian Night Time Economy (NTE) for the 2022–23 period and has invited local councils to join.

The study is intended to help councils to better understand and support economic activity after dark, and increase understanding of the performance trends of the NTE over time.

The CCCLM night time economy research provides:

  • Access to comprehensive data on the number of NTE businesses, employees and amount of sales turnover generated in an LGA over time
  • Insights into and the trading hours and precinct patterns shaping a council’s NTE growth
  • Opportunities to contribute to informing future strategies and policies aimed at bolstering Australian NTE vitality
