In partnership with Telstra, Local Government Procurement (LGP) has launched its new Innovation Development Fund (IDF) which will support and incentivise technology innovation across NSW councils.

The IDF is designed for local government organisations committed to meeting the evolving needs of their communities through strategic digital transformation. It enables councils to co-fund projects that enhance digital capability, foster innovation, and deliver new value to communities.

The fund operates on a dollar-for-dollar basis, whereby for every dollar requested, councils must contribute an equal amount.

For example, if a council is planning a $50,000 software development project aimed at improving customer service delivery, the IDF may contribute $25,000, with the council funding the remaining $25,000.

LGP has said that it is proud to collaborate with Telstra in supporting digital transformation across the NSW local government sector.

The Innovation Development Fund is now open for submissions and will close at 5:00pm on Friday, 31 October.

To apply, visit the Innovation Development Fund page and complete a short online form to have your project considered.
