Grants of up to $1 million are available to support new recycling and resource recovery projects across Victoria, with applications now open under Round 6 of a major funding program.
Sustainability Victoria is inviting councils and businesses to apply for funding through the Victorian Circular Economy Recycling Modernisation Fund (CERMF), which combines Federal and Victorian Government investment.
The fund supports projects that strengthen recycling capability, increase capacity and improve the resilience of Victoria’s resource recovery system.
Grants ranging from $50,000 to $1 million are available for equipment that supports recycling, reprocessing and remanufacturing. Eligible materials include soft plastics, e-waste, tyres, liquid paperboard and textiles.
The program aims to attract new investment, improve the quality of recovered materials and support innovative technologies that enable more effective recycling and manufacturing solutions.
Sustainability Victoria Chief Executive Officer, Matt Genever, said the funding would help scale new approaches to circular economy outcomes.
“By investing in improved recycling and manufacturing solutions, more materials can be recovered, reused and made into new products locally,” Genever said.
“Victoria has the capability to lead in circular innovation, and this fund supports new infrastructure, job creation and the growth of the recycling sector.”
Round 6 builds on more than $67 million in joint funding already awarded to 24 infrastructure projects across the state, including initiatives targeting hard-to-recycle materials and new uses for recycled products.
Applications close on 1 July 2026 and will be assessed on a rolling basis, with funding allocated until exhausted.
The program forms part of the Federal Government’s Recycling Modernisation Fund and the Victorian Government’s broader investment to transform the state’s waste and recycling sector.
