Global telematics provider Geotab has unveiled its next generation of AI-powered fleet technology for Australian and New Zealand operators.

Geotab Inc. announced its latest product roadmap at Geotab Connect 2026 in Las Vegas, introducing new video safety tools, upgraded vehicle hardware and rugged asset tracking solutions.

The event marked the global launch of high-precision telematics and AI-driven devices, with a regional focus on transforming fleet tracking into an integrated operational management system.

Geotab Associate Vice President APAC, David Brown, said the technology was designed to support fleets operating in demanding environments.

“Australian and New Zealand fleets operate in some of the most demanding conditions in the world,” Brown said.

“This next wave of innovation is about turning connected vehicle data into near real-time intelligence that fleets can actually use to prevent incidents, sharpen decision making and maintain visibility across vehicles and critical assets.”

For Australian fleets, key product priorities for 2026 include expanded video safety systems, next-generation telematics devices and satellite-enabled asset tracking.

Geotab previewed GO Focus Pro, an AI-powered video solution designed to provide 360-degree visibility and predictive risk detection. The system combines surround-view cameras with in-cab alerts to help identify potential hazards before incidents occur.

The technology includes a zero-latency reversing monitor to support safer backing and docking in high-risk environments such as worksites, depots and delivery hubs.

Geotab also launched a redesigned generation of its GO devices, including the new GO Plus platform. Built on a new architecture, the devices are designed to support faster data processing and improved diagnostics for mixed and electric vehicle fleets.

The GO device includes native Bluetooth connectivity and enhanced tamper protection, while GO Plus features satellite-ready tracking and an integrated Wi-Fi hotspot to support incident investigation and operational reporting.

To improve visibility of non-powered assets, Geotab introduced the GO Anywhere and GO Anywhere Plus tracking solutions for trailers and heavy equipment.

The GO Anywhere Plus device enables potential satellite connectivity in Australia, combining mobile and satellite networks to support asset monitoring in remote areas.

Geotab also announced the winners of its 2026 Innovation Awards, recognising 19 commercial and public sector fleets worldwide for their use of connected vehicle data to improve safety, efficiency and sustainability.

Collectively, award recipients recorded more than 35 million safe miles driven, achieved more than $19 million in savings, and reduced carbon emissions by more than eight million pounds.

Australian energy distributor Essential Energy was recognised as Safety Champion for its data-led fleet program. With crews travelling about 35 million kilometres annually across regional and remote New South Wales, the organisation has significantly reduced accident claims, fuel use and maintenance costs.

Geotab Connect 2026 was held from 10 to 12 February in Las Vegas, bringing together fleet operators, technology partners and industry leaders.
