A draft bill proposing changes to liquor licensing is now open to feedback from South Australian councils.
The Liquor Licensing Act 1997 regulates and controls the promotion, sale, supply and consumption of liquor in South Australia.
The Minister for Small and Family Business has invited submissions on the Liquor Licensing (Miscellaneous) Amendment Bill 2025.
Based on stakeholder feedback, as well as issues identified by the Liquor and Gambling Commissioner, the proposed amendments in the draft Bill include:
- Measures relating to gender-based violence
- Measures to protect persons who are vulnerable to harm through alcohol
- Licensing matters, administrative matters and increasing penalties for offences under the Act
