2024 National Economic Development Conference

The 2024 National Economic Development Conference (NEDC24) will be held in Melbourne (Naarm) from October 16-18 2024 with the theme, ‘The Power of Place’. Australia’s premier conference for economic development professionals, NEDC24 will explore how place-based economic development drives community prosperity, resilience and empowerment.

Keynote presentations, lively discussion, entertaining debates, workshops and study tours will provide practical tools to help economic development professionals meet the complex challenges they face including, housing, climate impact, skills shortages, generational equity and the evolving retail sector. NEDC24 will also provide ready to implement ideas to harness key opportunities around new technologies (including AI), energy transition, workforce development, etc.

As always, NEDC24 will feature unique networking events including a Welcome Reception in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD at the funky Bourke Street Green and the National Economic Development Awards for Excellence Gala at one of the city’s most iconic venues, the historic Plaza Ballroom.
