The City of Greater Dandenong has marked the one year anniversary of its Anti-Poverty Strategy, which outlines how Council can work together with other organisations to address the causes of poverty and implement practical solutions.

Over the past year many not-for-profit organisations, community groups, church groups, and an army of volunteers, have been working to address poverty.

Council thanked those who have shown great compassion to their community through the delivery of emergency relief, material aid, homelessness services, case management support, education and offered a warm place for those most vulnerable to take shelter.

Council is also set to host an event which highlights practical things to do to reduce costs. The event will be held at the Springvale Community Hub on Friday 27 October, from 3pm-6pm.
