Local Government NSW is inviting applications from mayors and councillors interested in representing local government on the National Parks and Wildlife Advisory Council.
The Advisory Council provides advice to the Minister for the Environment and the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water on matters relating to the management and operation of national parks and reserves across New South Wales.
The responsibilities of the Advisory Council are outlined in Section 23 of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974.
The LGNSW nominee will have experience in planning and local government, with members expected to contribute to the effectiveness of the council, analyse information, make a constructive contribution to discussion and uphold the NSW Government’s code of ethics and conduct.
The member will be appointed by the Minister for a period of up to four years, starting in November 2026.
To apply, email LGNSW Strategy Manager Environment Susy Cenedese at susy.cenedese@lgnsw.org.au to receive the application forms, or call 02 9242 4080.
