The Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV), Local Government Association of South Australia (LGASA) and Local Government NSW (LGNSW) are jointly hosting an information session regarding the impending release of strengthened aged care standards by the Federal Government.
Councils are encouraged to attend the session, which will feature representatives from the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.
The free workshop is being held from 1:30pm-2:30pm on 18 April with support from the Federal Department of Health and Aged Care.
It’s important for councils providing aged care services, particularly those only providing Commonwealth Home Support Program services, to attend to understand the new quality standards, which could be implemented as early as July 2024 with the commencement of the new Aged Care Act and regulatory model.
The session will cover the responsibilities of councils in meeting the new standards.
