Earlybird registration for the 25th Local Government Information Technology Conference (LGIT2024) is available until 18 October.
The conference is set to be hosted by City of Coffs Harbour and will provide a forum for local government managers and support staff to network, learn and exchange ideas.
The LGIT2024 program will feature speakers from government, the private sector, online organisations, and the broader computer and communications industries. Representatives of local, state and federal government agencies, and business corporations will be in attendance from throughout Australia.
Key topics will include Practical use of AI in Local Government ICT, Cyber security\Cyber resilience trends in local government, latest tech innovations for the enterprise, smart cities and citizen engagement, ICT financial sustainability and justifying value, ICT staff performance – managing an intergenerational workforce, work equity and the right to disconnect.
The 2024 conference will feature high profile keynote speakers, including:
- Adam Spencer, maths geek, comedian and author
- Lou Markstrom, author of Unleashing the Power of IT
- Alicia McKay, local government strategy expert
- Julian Moore, Director, Strategic Membership Solutions
- Martin Buckland, security specialist – local government – Microsoft Australia
- Nerida Mooney, A/Executive Director Digital, Analytics & Insights – Corporate Services, NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure
A number of councils from around Australia will also be presenting, including:

- Hornsby Shire Council
An extensive trade exhibition and networking functions also form an integral component of the conference. The conference will be held on 27-29 November 2024. Delegates who have not registered can secure early bird tickets until Friday 18 October.
