Early bird registrations are closing soon for the Australian Local Government Women’s Association’s (ALGWA) 75th Anniversary Conference, set to be held in Manly, New South Wales, from 20-22 August.
The milestone event will bring together local government leaders, elected representatives and sector professionals for three days of discussion, networking and professional development.
The conference program features a range of high-profile speakers, including journalist and broadcaster Ita Buttrose, political commentator Annabel Crabb and futurist Simon Waller.
More than 20 expert panellists will participate in sessions covering topics such as artificial intelligence in local government, advocacy for women in local government, engaging diverse communities and increasing female representation on boards.
Speakers include Australian Local Government Association (ALGA) President, Matt Burnett, National Rural Women’s Coalition Chief Executive Officer, Keli McDonald, AI expert Dr Rachel Swift, Women on Boards co-founder Claire Braund, Chief Executive Women Chair Helen Conway, and former Lord Mayors Sally Capp, Sallyanne Atkinson and Anna Reynolds.
The conference will also feature a range of networking opportunities, including a welcome event at Manly Art Gallery and Museum overlooking Sydney Harbour and a gala dinner featuring speed painter and entertainer Rowan.
