The ALGA has released a new guide to councils which is designed to support them in making submissions to the Standing Committee on Regional Development, Infrastructure and Transport’s inquiry into local government sustainability.
Submissions to the inquiry were originally due by 3 May however ALGA successfully secured a four week extension, with written submissions now due by 31 May 2024.
ALGA will provide an evidence-based national submission on behalf of the sector.
But it has strongly encouraged all councils to provide their own submissions, with a particular focus on what they could do for their communities with fair and more sustainable funding.
