Griffith City Council and Argyle Housing have collaborated with the Federal Government to officially open an innovative affordable housing project, Griffin Green.

This development forms part of the Building Better Regions Fund. The official opening event took place on-site on 31 July.

This significant initiative encompasses 20 townhouses and 42 build-ready lots, aiming to provide quality housing solutions for the Griffith community and address the urgent need for affordable accommodation in the area.

Griffith Mayor, Doug Curran, said that he was thrilled to see Griffin Green come to fruition.

“It’s a testament to what can be achieved when government, a community housing provider, and the community work together for a common goal,” Mayor Curran said.

“The official opening of the Griffin Green Affordable Housing portion of this project is a chance for us all to celebrate the positive impacts this collaboration will have on our community now and into the future.”

Argyle Housing CEO, Carolyn Doherty, said that Argle was proud to announce the official opening of Griffin Green.

“This project represents a crucial step towards ensuring that everyone in our community has access to safe and affordable housing,” Ms Doherty said.

“Griffin Green is not just buildings; it’s about creating a healthy and supportive community for all.”
