The 2024 Local Government Mayoral Advisory Panel (LGMAP) appointees have been announced.
The LGMAP consists of mayors from across Victoria who provide high level advice on local government issues, and is appointed and chaired by the Victorian Minister for Local Government.
The appointees to the 2024 LGMAP are:
- Wellington Shire Council Mayor, Ian Bye, representing One Gippsland
- City of Kingston Council Mayor, Jenna Davey-Burns, representing the Association of Bayside Municipalities
- Murrindindi Shire Council Mayor, Damien Gallagher, in his individual capacity
- Hume City Council Mayor, Naim Kurt representing Interface Councils
- Maribyrnong City Council Mayor, Cuc Lam, in her individual capacity
- Bass Coast Shire Council Mayor, Clare Le Serve, representing Peri Urban Councils Victoria
- Whitehorse City Council Mayor, Denise Massoud, representing the Eastern Region Group of Councils
- Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Shane Sali, representing Regional Cities Victoria
- Bayside City Council Mayor, Fiona Stitfold, representing the Inner South Metropolitan Mayor’s Forum
- Pyrenees Shire Council Mayor, Robert Vance, representing Rural Councils Victoria.
The Minister for Local Government wrote to all mayors, and to the Chairs of 15 council-led advocacy groups, to request nominations for appointment to the 2024 LGMAP.
The panel advises the Minister on a range of legislative, regulatory, strategic and policy decisions which impact the local government sector.
Meetings of the LGMAP are usually scheduled between March and October to account for mayoral terms and to enable the Minister to select and appoint new members each year.
Meetings are scheduled for 21 March, 9 May, 1 August and 12 September 2024.
